The purpose of the National Institute for Youth and Community Education as an expertise centre has just been confirmed by the advice commission set up by the High Commissioner for Youth Martin Hirsch. As such, INJEP offers assessments on local issues, audits, tailor-made evaluations to suit the needs of professionals and elected representatives in charge youth policies.
This range of services relies on numerous studies made or co-made by the institute, on the latter’s ability to keep alive a network of researchers and actors on the ground, build up knowledge and reconcile diverse work cultures.
50 years of experience
With half a century-worth of experience on these matters, Injep indeed possesses an in-depth knowledge of institutional and voluntary organisation actors both in France and abroad. As a public national institute, Injep knows how to mutualize experiences and identify good practices, be they local, national or European.
Innovative methods
In order to provide expertise, audits and assessments, Injep uses experimental and innovative methods. It sets up, among other things, "research-actions" in order to prevent outbreaks of violence in a neighbourhood, rethink care for 11-15 year olds in leisure centres, or again organize conferences on such essential themes as minors’ involvement in voluntary organisations or the challenges of cultural diversity.
The purpose of Injep is not only to accompany the transformations of the role of youth policy actors but also to provide guidance as to its contours and bring creative answers to all the concrete questions about public youth policies wherever needed.
